Don’t believe that these last 8 days before November 3 provide wind-down respite for candidates! Because the last couple of weeks have been especially successful fundraising, it became possible to reach out to voters in ways that I had not envisioned possible. With thanks to several great patriots (whose permission I will get before naming them publicly), I’ve had the opportunity to cut TV ads that are running these last couple weeks. I hope you’ve seen them! Three rotating ads are on homelessness, clean water/clean air and Covid-19 and are written for appeal beyond Republican voters.
We’ve had three mailers out in the two weeks since our last update – one sent to Republicans, one sent to Independents and Democrats, and another that went out as an independent contribution from the Move Clark County Forward PAC. Also this Sunday several thousand calls went out to District 3 registered voters who have not yet turned in their ballots. I have chosen to emphasize my positions and background rather than to run a negative campaign.
IS YOUR BALLOT AT ELECTIONS? Wow - 45% of eligible voters in Clark County have already voted in the ten days since ballots were mailed! That’s 144,600 ballots in the County so far compared to 71,000 in 2016! Have you checked that your ballot has been received (i.e. received by Clark County Elections) or accepted (i.e. accepted and will be counted)? I check until it says "accepted" to know there is no problem such as the signature on the envelope. It is easy. Just go to https://voter.votewa.gov/WhereToVote.aspx, enter your name and birthdate, and at the next screen hit "Ballot Status" in the left-hand column.
We surely have some great Republicans on the ballot, making it a thrill to submit the ballot! Loren Culp has run a high-energy campaign that I respect greatly. He has come so far since he was our 2019 Clark County Lincoln Day speaker!
IF YOU HAVEN’T HEARD ENOUGH INTERVIEWS YET The Housing Industry Candidate Forum from earlier this week can be heard in full here. All four candidates for districts 3 and 4 were invited, but only Gary Medvigy (District 4 R Candidate) and I accepted the invitation. The Forum covered great topics such as permit center operations and affordable housing. Before that forum, Lars Larson had me on his show very briefly. And before Lars, this CVTV interview was well done by the station in a short 23 minute format covering topics such as our respective goals, the County’s revenue loss and racial equity.
NO MORE UPDATES? These campaign updates have been coming to you every couple of weeks since I filed for office, but in two weeks from now we’ll already know the election outcome! If I am elected, I will continue updates on County business so that you can easily remain involved and informed. We can do this in whatever format you prefer – one page bimonthly emails like this, “Just A Minute” videos, a personal webpage or occasional podcasts. If I’m elected, I truly look forward to working with each of you to make our County an even better place to live and work.
With sincere thanks to each one of you receiving this update for all you are doing to help bring a conservative majority to Clark County!
